Day 1 — Approach & Glacier Training
Depart Quito at 10:00 AM to Cotopaxi National Park. Walk 1 hour from the parking area at 4,500m to Jose Ribas Refuge at 4,800m. After lunch, practice glacier techniques with your guide for 1 hour. Return to the hut for dinner at 6:00 PM and rest before the summit attempt.Day 2 — Summit Day
Wake at midnight to prepare equipment and drink hot tea. Begin the summit ascent through glaciers and crevasse fields. Reach the summit of Cotopaxi at 5,897m after 5-6 hours. Spend 20 minutes at the top for photos and to admire the crater. Descend to the refuge in 3 hours, then walk to the parking area and return to Quito.What's Included
