Day 1 — Cotopaxi National Park
Drive 2 hours south of Quito to Cotopaxi National Park at 3,800m. Visit the park museum and Limpiopungo Lagoon. Continue by vehicle to the parking area at 4,500m, then hike approximately 1 hour to the Jose Ribas Refuge at 4,800m. Visit the glacier edge at the refuge altitude before returning to Quito.
