Day 1 — Whymper Refuge (4,800m)
Drive from Quito to Chimborazo, the highest mountain in Ecuador. Arrive at the Carrel Refuge at 4,800m. Acclimatize, review equipment and route, have dinner, and rest.
Day 2 — Summit Attempt
Begin at midnight for the summit push. Cross glaciers and navigate crevasse zones to reach the Whymper summit at 6,263m — the farthest point from the center of the Earth. Descend to the refuge, then return to Quito.
